Leonardo has been confirmed as a leading company in the fight against corruption. The company’s commitment against bribery and enhancing the related risk prevention system, in the area of global security technologies, are the main factors behind the renewal of the Anti-Corruption System Certification, which was issued by RINA, pursuant to the standard ISO 37001:2016 “Anti-bribery Management Systems”- the first international standard in the sector.
Based on the checks carried out by RINA, all Leonardo processes exposed to the risk of corrupt conduct are compliant with the internal control system. This demonstrates the full maturity of an approach in line with global best practices.
A key element of the recognition is the awareness of the Group's employees of an internal system for the prevention of corruption and the progressive implementation of corporate control measures, with a view of continuous improvement.
“This is an achievement of great value which reflects our commitment to preventing corruption and promoting a Group compliance culture”, underlines the Chairman of Leonardo, Stefano Pontecorvo. “This prestigious recognition is an expression of the professionalism and skills of Leonardo's people, who are daily committed to a path of consolidation of the responsible business management model, inspired by the highest international standards.”
“The renewal of the certification – observes the CEO and General Manager of Leonardo, Roberto Cingolani – represents an important premise for the future which is based on a far-sighted vision of sustainable progress. The objective is to continue to be a leader in the fight against corruption, inspiring trust and credibility in stakeholders and communities. Acting for the company can never justify behavior that is in contrast with our guiding principles: correctness, good faith, trust and zero tolerance for corruption.”
“The renewal of the ISO 37001:2016 certification – declares the Co-General Manager of Leonardo, Lorenzo Mariani – is the result of Leonardo's commitment to guaranteeing responsible and transparent commercial practices: a true strategic asset, of fundamental value for the reputational capital of the agency. We will continue to combine initiatives to strengthen the business with those that enhance the principles of integrity and professional ethics.”
Leonardo achieved Certification for the first time in 2018, placing itself in the leading group of top ten international Aerospace, Defence & Security companies in possession of the recognition. The company system is subjected, on an annual basis, to surveillance activities by the external certifying body.
