The Defence sector is currently undergoing a revolution, also due to the tensions and conflicts that characterise the international scenario. As explained by Roberto Cingolani, in this context we are shifting from the traditional concept of Defence to a broader approach, global security, which through digital technologies makes it possible to protect cyber, energy and food security.
Digital transformation is one of the factors behind Leonardo's double digit growth across all KPIs in the first half of 2024. Analysing the financial results, Cingolani points out that the company's growth derives not only from the geopolitical situation, but also “from the strong investments made in digitalisation and research and development.”
The industry’s evolution and the Group's new approach involve an unprecedented digitalisation of all platforms: from digital twin design to digital and predictive maintenance, from digital services to multi-domain technologies, enabling all platforms - land, sea, space, air and cyber - to communicate with each other.
