To support the digital and green transformation of the aerospace and automotive supply chains nationwide – this is the goal of DAMAS, the Digital Hub for Automotive and Aerospace, which is currently getting ready to kick-start its activities. After passing the national pre-selection phase, DAMAS qualified for the Digital Europe Programme for the establishment of the “Initial Network of European Digital Innovation Hubs” with the ‘Seal of Excellence’. The recent signing of the decree by the Ministry for Business and Made in Italy sanctioned the role of DAMAS as one of the Italian EDIHs within the European network financed by the Ministry with funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR - Mission 4).
The project coordinated by Leonardo - involving 19 national organisations, including large, small and medium-sized enterprises, research centres, universities and regional innovation clusters - envisages the creation of a cluster for SMEs, mid-caps and their public administrations, in two key national industrial sectors, aerospace and automotive, linked by increasing synergy.
In line with the mandate of the European Digital Innovation Hubs, DAMAS will offer a state-of-the-art physical infrastructure and a broad portfolio of services, developed according to an analysis of the concrete needs of aerospace and automotive companies and their public administrations, based on specific market studies.
