A report published by Strategy&, part of the PwC network, reveals the significant contribution of the Eurofighter Typhoon programme to European national economies. In Italy, the strategic, productive and technological heart of the project is at the Leonardo sites in Turin. This is detailed in an article published today in La Stampa (Turin edition).

Leonardo participates in the Eurofighter programme, involved in the aircraft’s definition, development and production, with a 21% share, or 36% when considering its responsibilities for the construction of the aircraft's airframe, avionics and onboard electronics.

Over the next decade, the programme will contribute EUR 58bn to the GDP of the four partner countries (the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, and Spain) and support 62,700 jobs per year across Europe. In a growth scenario, it is estimated that there could be an impact of up to EUR 90bn in GDP, with annual fiscal returns of EUR 22bn and 98,000 jobs per annum.
