The Compliance Roadshow kicked off on November 23, 2023, with the Corporate Compliance Workshop “Ethical Leadership: strategic lever for a successful business", an opportunity for reflection and training on the possible commercial and reputational consequences that could arise for the company in the event of failure or insufficient compliance with internal rules and regulations applicable to its activities.
As Lorenzo Mariani, Co-General Manager of Leonardo, pointed out, "Compliance is not an obstacle to business, but it is an obstacle to shortcuts", highlighting how the procedural system with which the company has equipped itself is solid, well-built, and resilient, and that the human factor is central in ensuring correct behaviour in relationships with potential customers or commercial intermediaries and in protecting the company's reputation.
The next step was five Divisional Workshops which were held, during 2024, in the various business areas of Leonardo, with the participation of the respective Managing Directors: Stefano Bortoli – Aerostructures, Andrea Campora – Cyber & Security Solutions, Gian Piero Cutillo – Helicopters, Marco De Fazio – Electronics, Marco Zoff – Aircraft. Designed to bring ethical leadership into the concreteness of individual operating realities, the Workshops analysed the aspects that most influence the responsible management of business: the use of artificial intelligence, the application of the 231/2001 regulation, environmental sustainability, respect for human rights and the impact of the current geopolitical context.
The path concluded on November 26 with the Compliance Workshop Subsidiaries, which saw the participation of Leonardo’s Chairman Stefano Pontecorvo, Elena Napolitano, Chief Compliance Officer and Carlo Gualdaroni, Chief Commercial & Business Development Officer. The Workshop was attended by 47 companies controlled by Leonardo, offering an international perspective on the topic through the testimonies of the various compliance offices around the world.
In total, the Compliance Roadshow reached approximately 1,400 people in the Group, for approximately 3,000 hours of training overall: an invaluable opportunity to build an increasingly distinctive and shared culture of integrity and transparency, at all levels.
