The first Italian school to provide high-profile training on sustainability issues related to the UN 2030 Agenda and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), The Siena Summer School on Sustainable Development has just ended.

Two weeks of lectures, seminars and group work were entirely dedicated to sustainable development issues: 42 participants - including the two winners of the Leonardo4SDGs internal initiative - more than 40 speakers, with the active participation of academics and representatives from institutions and businesses. As teachers for a day, our managers talked about the commitment of Leonardo in these areas.

Half way through the course, the Minister of Education, University and Research, Lorenzo Fioramonti opened the conference  “Education will save the Planet?” with a masterclass, followed by a panel where Leonardo was represented by the Chief Stakeholder Officer, Raffaella Luglini.

10 full scholarships were also made available by Leonardo together with Enel Foundation.

Social, economic and environmental sustainability were the key words of the Siena Summer School, organised by the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development (ASviS)  in collaboration with Leonardo, Enel Foundation, the Network of Universities for Sustainable Development(Rus), Sustainable Development Solutions Network Italy, Sustainable Development Solutions Network Mediterraneanand Santa Chiara Lab Centre at the University of Siena
