A passion for technology and the desire to challenge themselves in new environments are two of the elements that link the personal and professional paths of Nico Di Domenica and Luigi Capone. Both, at different times, spent part of their education abroad, between England, France and the United States. Places where they also took their first professional steps.
A sort of common thread that guided them back to Italy and join Leonardo. Nico joined the Group in 2020 to contribute to the company’s digitalisation path, and since 2022, he has been part of the Digital Transformation Department in Cascina Costa (Varese, Italy). Luigi has been working at Leonardo’s site in Genova Fiumara since 2021, when the company was looking for people with expertise in distributed computing and simulations, with the aim of building the supercomputer davinci-1.
Thanks to the joint effort of their teams, the digital twin of Leonardo’s helicopters was created. The project is a perfect example of the value in sharing expertise between different parts of the company. When thinking about their respective teams, Nico and Luigi imagine them as small "start-ups" or "multipliers of skills" within a much wider context. Both have found in Leonardo an environment where challenging and disruptive projects can be pursued every day at the international level.
