Stefano, who has been an electronic engineer at Leonardo for 26 years, has taken on a range of challenges within the company. These include going from a role as laboratory manager in the sphere of Automation to working on research and innovation in ICT and Cyber Security at the Torre Fiumara (Genoa) site.

He currently manages the Cyber Innovation & Prototypes Lab within Product & Technology Development at Leonardo's Cyber & Security Solutions; he also has the role of Project Engineering Manager following several National Military Research Programmes (PNRMs) of the Italian Ministry of Defence - and European programmes of the EDA (European Defence Agency) - in the area of Cyber Resilience, critical infrastructure protection, 5G security and cyber situational awareness.

He has recently been focused on creating Cyber Range, a platform developed by Leonardo for training IT security specialists in the military and civil spheres through the simulation of extremely realistic (and complex) scenarios that enable the testing of new attack and defence techniques and the assessment of tools and processes used to protect technological systems.

For Stefano, the most interesting technologies include “certainly the ability to create innovative prototypes that involve different disciplines and basic technologies aimed at the growth of user skills, system security and decision-making support in correctly managing emergencies and critical situations”.

“Leonardo”, continues Stefano, “has enabled me to investigate and explore processes, themes and contexts that are useful and necessary to the Company itself and that have developed my organisational, resource management and innovation skills. They have also taught me how to effectively present and communicate the activities I’ve carried out and the technical-scientific and operational results I’ve achieved.”
