12 June 2024

Narrating the stories of future military pilots from the world's air forces, currently students at the International Flight Training School (IFTS) in Decimomannu, born from the collaboration between Leonardo and the Italian Air Force. This is the aim of the docuseries that will be broadcast on Rai 2 in late evening, starting from today, 12 June.

Four episodes to discover the objectives and dreams of the IFTS flight academy students, but also the instructors' experience and the technologies that make the training possible. After a year of filming at the base in Decimomannu, Sardinia, the docuseries will show them dealing with everyday life and in action during different training missions, carried out on board the M-346 fleet or through the most advanced hi-tech simulators.

Life within the International Flight Training School will be recounted through the voices of the protagonists. Interviews with the trainees and their instructors will provide an insight into the rules of training and an understanding of the relationship that characterises the path within the academy, made up of trust, respect and closeness.

In addition to the in-flight shots, which will show the complexity of the pilots' manoeuvres and training, the docuseries produced as part of the Italian Air Force's centenary celebrations will brought to the fore personal and human stories, ncluding sacrifices and goals, feelings, dreams, ambitions, fears and hopes.
