Graduated in “Business and Economics” and in “Law” at the University La Sapienza of Rome, Federico Bonaiuto is a chartered accountant, lawyer and qualified auditor.

Starting from 1996, he spent his entire career at Leonardo (formerly Finmeccanica) where he held different positions with increasing responsibilities. After the appointment as Head of Tax, he took the role of VP Legal, with responsibility for legal and corporate affairs in M&A, Antitrust, Finance and Joint Ventures and, subsequently, the role of VP Corporate Affairs.

In 2012 he was appointed as Secretary General of Selex ES, the Leonardo company comprising the Group’s Defense Electronics businesses, with the responsibility for legal, corporate and compliance affairs of Selex ES companies in Italy and abroad.

In 2015, in connection with the establishment of Leonardo One Company, he was appointed as SVP Group Legal Affairs. In June 2023 he was appointed as Leonardo General Counsel.
