Smarter and safer cities thanks to AI

A control room based on Leonardo’s technology uses artificial intelligence (AI) to analyse data from multiple sources, such as social media, surveillance cameras, drones and smartphones, to ensure Rome’s security. This is the focus of a Tg1 Rai report by Valentina Bisti.

Continuous monitoring, capable of resisting hacker attacks, is the activity carried out by the control room that, thanks to Leonardo’s technology, uses AI to make the city of Rome smarter, faster and, through data and images provided in real time, safer.

Paolo Piccirillo, Vice President Sales Police Forces for Leonardo Cyber & Security Solutions, explains that the interpretation of the image is provided by artificial intelligence algorithms, which are able to identify anomalous situations and send the relevant alert to a remote centre.
