Chief Procurement, Services & Operations Officer

Manlio Cuccaro is the Chief Procurement, Services & Operations Officer of Leonardo Group.

He has been the Chief Technology & Performance Officer of MBDA Group in Paris, with the responsibility to lead the company’s Innovation, digitalization and technologies developments. 

He has also been the Managing Director of Land & Naval Defence Electronics Division of Leonardo SpA (former Finmeccanica SpA). Prior he has held the position of Deputy Managing Director of Airborne & Space division.

He joined Selex SpA - a Finmeccanica (now Leonardo) Company - in 2010 and he has held a number of positions of Senior Executive in the Sales, Programme and Business organization such as Senior Vice President “Support & Services” and Senior Vice President “Avionics Equipment”.

He started working in Aeritalia/Alenia Aeronautica where he was assigned to the Engineering department working on several military and civil aircraft programs.

In 1994, he moved to ATR (Avions de Transport Regional) in Toulouse (France) working in the Marketing & Sales department, reaching the position of Marketing Director.

In 1997, he joined AIRBUS Industrie Asia as Business Development Director, working on Sino-European cooperation projects in Beijing (China).

Moving to Atlanta (USA) in 1999, he worked for two years in LMATTS (Lockheed Martin - Alenia Tactical Transport Aircraft) as International Business Development Director.

After returning to Europe in 2001, he joined the EADS Group (now AIRBUS) as General Manager, and then became CEO, of the Italian subsidiary of EADS Telecommunication in Rome.

In 2004, he moved to Paris to assume the position of Vice President International Sales of the EADS Defence & Communication division.

He is currently Chairman of the Board of GIE ATR (Avions de Transport Regional), Leonardo Logistics SpA and AMSH B.V.; Board Director of MBDA Italia SpA, MBDA B.V. and Leonardo Global Solutions SpA.  He has also been Chairman of Larimart SpA and Vitrociset SpA

A graduate of the Italian Military College “Nunziatella”, he also has a master degree in aeronautical engineering.
