Travel Company Wotif Group has Appointed Leonardo to Source Visual Content to Support Properties with Distribution through its Portfolio of Iconic Online Travel Brands in Asia Pacific, including Wotif.com
Toronto, Canada and Brisbane, Australia – October 8, 2014 – Leonardo, technology and online media company for the global hospitality industry, today announced a new agreement with Wotif Group (Wotif.com Holdings Limited), which operates leading travel brands in the Asia Pacific region, including Wotif.com, Australia’s leading travel website selling hotels in more than 69 countries along with flights and packages.
In addition to Wotif.com, Leonardo will provide visual content for travel websites under the Wotif Group including lastminute.com.au, AsiaWebDirect.com, and travel.com.au, providing a more immersive visual experience for travel shoppers researching hotels.
Seamless image sourcing and processing
Under the agreement, Wotif Group will gain access to over 1.5 million photos from the global travel industry’s largest hotel media library for over 100,000 GDS listed hotels globally. Wotif Group will also benefit from the image sourcing and processing features included in the MediaConnect product, such as:
- Delivery of media in multiple formats and sizes along with meta-data including categories and captions;
- Brand and hotel certified content that is updated regularly to ensure accuracy and freshness of content on Wotif Group’s websites and minimize rogue image issues;
- Media sourcing through advanced XML connectivity based on industry standards from HTNG (Hotel Technology Next Generation) and Open Travel Alliance.
Global travel network
Wotif Group is now a direct channel member in Leonardo’s VNetwork, the most extensive travel website network in the global travel industry comprised of more than 120 direct connect travel websites and tens of thousands of forward distribution channels. With Wotif Group in the VNetwork, hotels have the opportunity to reach and engage more leisure travelers using this leading travel channel.
