The laboratory researches and develops digital technologies applied to space (observation of Earth and geospatial services). It employs Artificial Intelligence, High Performance Computing, Big Data analytics and quantum technologies to implement advanced monitoring and communication solutions that can combine data from diverse sources, ranging from satellites to a network of audio/video/Internet of Things (IoT) sensors.
Space Technologies
Research Unit
The research unit studies the development of technologies based on Artificial Intelligence applied to satellite system products, such as electro-optical, Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and hyperspectral images, to enable the extraction of information, allowing operators to fully benefit from advanced capabilities to perform geolocalised analyses.
Researchers: Giacomo Domenico Cascarano, Muhammad Atique Ur Rehman
The research unit studies the development of technologies based on Artificial Intelligence applied to the multi-agent flight and autonomous flight of small drones, to perform advanced services based on drone fleets, which will make it possible to autonomously detect significant information and transmit it to the relevant control centre.
Researcher: Domenico Cappello
